Glen & Sandy

Vision. Passion. Time. Three of the elements that have combined over the decades to make Spring Hill Nursery and Garden a very special place.

Thirty years ago founders Glen Boxshall and Sandy Mitchell transformed a bare, windy sheep paddock on the edge of Tylden village into a rich mixture of conifers, maples, rhododendrons, camellias, viburnums, laurels, silver birch, blossom trees, roses, perennials and bulbs of every kind. The orchard they planted still produces delicious fruit that goes into our jams and pastes.  It's separated from the nursery by a magnificent espalier of cherry, pear and apple trees, a living sculpture crafted by years of careful pruning.
Glen and Sandy’s efforts were recognised in 2004 when Spring Hill Nursery won the national honour of Best Display Garden in the Australian Garden Industry Awards. As time went on their nursery also earned a deserved reputation for high quality plants and high quality service. They have helped thousands of customers bring their own dreams to life.
In 2020 Sandy and Glen started the next phase of their lives and we took over. For us, it was the chance of a lifetime. And two pairs of massive shoes to step into.
We're carrying on the traditions established by Glen and Sandy...and adding a few touches of our own.
We've opened a cosy cafe and a gift shop to make your visit even more enjoyable. We're collaborating with some great artisans and craft people to bring you authentic local products and we feel very lucky to live in Tylden and be a part of the Macedon Ranges community.
We look forward to welcoming you here.
